My ProcessI had a couple goals with this project. Being just out of college, I wanted to experiment, try some new techniques, and do something fun! I also wanted to make something mesmerising to watch and wanted to showcase some of the fruits of the Okanagan. I managed to achieve all of my goals, especially the mesmerising part, as while I was working I would often find myself just staring (and almost drooling) at the loop of stretching and squashing fruit.
I loved the idea of showing the finished pieces of art but also showing the journey of how you got there and all the hard work in between. It really resonated with me, being an animation student, because a lot of times when you show someone a couple seconds of animation they don't know about all the hours of work, or late nights, or how many times you had to go back and adjust miniscule things because something is just a liiiiittle bit off. I wanted to show each frame in all its glory as that isn't something that is seen a lot. It's usually just the video as a whole, which makes sense because some of the frames are a little weird looking to make the motion feel right, but I think some of the weird frames are my favourite to look at! |
